Very dark brown color, slow carbonation. Spicy, woodsy green hop aromas with slight roasted chocolate and a hint of smoke at the end.
Mild alcohol taste with a bitter finish. Heavy roasted, chocolate smokey malt flavor fading into bitter, creamy hops.
Not my style but a well balanced black IPA. From the color I was worried it would be to over the top but nice and restrained, like most 21 Amendment beers. Still has that big west coast hop style. Easy enough drinking for 6.8%. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good well priced black IPA.
