Vajra Barbera D'Alba '10 (15.5%)

Italy, Barolo
Barbera
$25ish

Poundability: 2/5
Value: 4/5
Overall: 4/5

Dark plum/purple color, medium body.

Spicy flavors with hints of leather and cedar/wood.  Mildly floral.  Blackberry, plum and light pepper.  Very mild leather.

Has a slightly unpleasant alcohol burn at finish, not surprising do to 15.5%, nevertheless alcohol felt restrained.  Beautiful color, didn't look old at all.  High acidity, bringing down poundability, but could still be sipped on its own without food.  Very complex with an incredibly long finish.  Will repeat.
